Snorkeling at Puerto Morelos & Maroma Reef, Riviera Maya

Snorkel the Puerto Morelos and Maroma reefs on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef — a guided boat tour with gear, coral gardens, tropical fish and sea turtles.

Aerial panoramic view of a beachfront resort with tiered white buildings, a pool and landscaped grounds beside a white-sand beach and a marina full of yachts and catamarans on turquoise water.

Just offshore from Puerto Morelos and Maroma lies one of the healthiest stretches of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, a protected marine park where the water is calm, shallow and astonishingly clear. A short boat ride takes you to the reef, where you'll float above coral gardens crowded with parrotfish, sergeant majors, rays and green sea turtles. The trip suits all ages and even first-timers — life vests and full snorkel gear are provided and a bilingual guide stays with the group. Round-trip transport, drinks and a snack are included; a small marine-park fee is paid on arrival.
